Day 1 Lima Arrival in Lima.
Lima is characterized by its historic center, art galleries, archeological sites and traditions. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 2 Lima - Cusco - Yucay
Flight to Cusco and transfer to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Urubamba Valley is fed by numerous rivers which descend through adjoining valleys and gorges, and contains numerous archaeological remains and villages. Visit the sanctuary Cochauasi Wasi, the authentic market “Mercado de Urubamba” and have lunch in a typical restaurant.
Day 3 Yucay
Morning at leisure. Optional excursions like visiting the traditional Pisac Market, Rafting on the Urubamba river, Biking tour in the Sacred Valley or Hiking from Ollantaytambo to Cachicata. In the afternoon visit of the ruins of Ollantaytambo.
Day 4 Yucay - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Visit to Machu Picchu. This “Lost City” of the Incas lay hidden from the world in dense jungle covered mountains until 1911 and is one of the world’s archaeological jewels. Explore the mystery of this awe-inspiring place. In the afternoon return to Cusco
Day 5 Cusco City tour of Cusco.
The contrasts of indigenous styles and the modern western world give this city its rare beauty. Visit to some ruins around Cusco, e.g. Sacsayhuaman. The beauty and monumental scale of this magnificent Inca fortress does not fail to impress its visitors.
Day 6 Cusco - Puno
Full day panoramic drive to Puno on the shores of magnificent Lake Titicaca. This amazing deep blue lake is the largest lake in South America and the largest in the world above 2000 m. Lake Titicaca was, according to Andean legend, the birthplace of civilization.
Day 7 Puno - Lima
Full day boat excursion on Lake Titicaca to the manmade islands of Uros and the unique culture of the Taquile Island (Seat-in). Lunch included. Afterwards transfer to Juliaca airport and flight to Lima.
Day 8 Lima
city tour of colonial and modern Lima or visit to Larco Herrera Museum. This unique museum contains a large collection of pottery from Inca and pre-Inca civilizations as well as erotic art pieces.
Day 9 Lima - Iguassu Flight to Iguassu.
Transfer to the hotel.
Day 10 Iguassu
In the afternoon visit to the Brazilian side of the falls with views of the full scale of the cascades. Afterwards visit the Iguazu National Park (Argentina), incl. the Devil’s Throat with the highest continuous fall. Wonderful sights include rainbows straddling clouds of spray, screeching green parrots flying across the waters and colorful butterflies hovering over lush greenery.
Day 11 Iguassu - Buenos Aires
Flight to Buenos Aires. The vibrant and cosmopolitan capital of Argentina is a fantastic melting pot of South American and European cultures
Day 12 Buenos Aires City
Tour of Buenos Aires, the “pearl” of South America. Visit the colourful La Boca district, the famous May Square, modern Puerto Madero, and beautiful Recoleta Cemetery. Optional: Half day Tigre tour or Tango Show incl. dinner at Viejo Almacen.
Day 13 Buenos Aires
End of the roundtrip and departure flight or post-tour.
