Chachapoyas - 06 Days/05 Nights

Day 01                                                                                                                   Lima-Chiclayo

• Transfer hotel – airport with transferman
• Flight Lima – Chiclayo (not included)
• Transfer airport – hotel in Chiclayo with assistance

At the appropriate time you will be picked up from your hotel to be transferred to the airport to take the flight to Chiclayo (not included).

Reception and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight at Hotel Casa Andina Select Chiclayo 3* or similar (standard room)

Day 02                                                                                              Lima-Chiclayo-Cocachimba

• Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Lunch
• Transfer Chiclayo-Cocachimba (11h30min)

Private transfer to the town of Cocachimba, located about 45 Km from the city of Chachapoyas.

Lunch at a local restaurant in the town of Bagua Grande.     

Arrival in Cocachimba, at Gocta Lodge.

Overnight at Hotel Gocta Lodge or similar (standard room)

Day 03                                                                                                                                  Gocta

• Meals: Buffet Breakfast
• Hiking to the waterfalls of Gocta

In the morning, about five hours hike to visit Gocta, one of the highest waterfalls in the world. Its 2,530 feet drop, in two impressive falls, provides a spectacular show and an experience you will always remember. As you walk through the rainforest, you’ll see orchids, giant ferns and trees, as well as many birds.

Back at the lodge just in time for lunch.

Afternoon at leisure.

Day 04                                                                                             Cocachimba - Leymebamba

• Visit of Kuelap (4h)
• Transfer Kuelap – Leymebamba
• Visit of the Museum Leymebamba (2h)
• Transfer to the hotel

Visit of Kuelap. This is an imposing building on the edge of a deep cliff. Recent archaeological research point out that this could have been an important religious center dedicated to the Chachapoyans gods, probably the god of thunder and rain, and others. An impressive 2,000 feet long wall surrounds the citadel, the gates or main entrances are constructed as narrow walled passageways that continue to narrow as they reach upwards and into the fortress, so the income would remain restricted to the complex.

Lunch in the town of Choctamal.

Transfer to the town of Leymebamba.

Visit of the Leymebamba Museum, one of the most interesting museums in Peru where you can see the collection of more than 200 Inca-Chachapoyas mummies in a superb state of preservation. Furthermore, this museum has the largest collection of Kipus in Peru.

Day 05                                                                                               Leymebamba - Cajamarca

• Meals: Breakfast, Box lunch
• Transfer Leymebamba – Cajamarca (8h)

Trip from Leymebamba to Cajamarca. A 8 hours journey traveling across two cordilleras and several different habitats, such as cloud forest, agricultural land, desert-like areas and the Río Marañon Canyon. 

The journey from Leymebamba to Cajamarca, passing by the Marañon Canyon, is one of Peru’s most spectacular drives, offering astonishing scenery. The Marañon River forms one of the world’s deepest canyons, and you will descend through different ecosystems from over 9,850 feet to the town of Balsas at 2,790 feet. After crossing the river you ascend back through the various habitats to nearly 10,500 feet.

Overnight at Hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Cajamarca 3* or similar (standard room)

Day 06                                                                                                              Cajamarca - Lima

• Transfer hotel – airport
• Flight Cajamarca – Lima (Not Included)
• Assistance at Lima airport

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your flight to Lima (not included). Departure from Cajamarca according to current flight schedule at 07:15h (subject to changes).

Reception and assistance for your connection flight back home or to your next travel destination.

**Remark: Due to the early departure it is not possible to have breakfast at the hotel in Cajamarca. We offer the following alternatives:

Optional: Breakfast at airport hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima.

After arrival in Lima you will be welcomed by our guide and accompanied to the airport hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima. Breakfast will be served there.

**Remark: this optional service must be booked and paid in advance. Breakfast is served until 09:30am. This optional service is only advisable if your next flight leaves after 13:00hs, otherwise you might miss the connecting flight. 

Optional: Breakfast and day use at hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima.

After arrival in Lima you will be welcomed by our guide and accompanied to the airport hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima. Breakfast will be served there. Day use at the hotel until 18:00 is included.
