COLOMBIA - FASCINATING COLOMBIA

Day 1 Bogotá
Arrival at Bogotá and hotel transfer. In Bogotá meet both the dilapidated colonial grandeur, and the seething vitality of a modern metropolis. Remaining time at leisure to    explore the city on your own or to relax at the hotel. 

Day 2 Bogotá
Half day city tour including the visit of the famous Paloquemao market, the Gold Museum, Botero Museum and the statue of Guadalupe. Afternoon at leisure. 

Day 3 Bogotá
Visit of the underground salt cathedral Zipaquirá, the    legendary lagoon of Guatavita and the farm of a local   family to learn more about their daily live. Lunch included.  

Day 4 Bogotá – Villa Vieja
Transfer to the airport and flight to Neiva. Walking tour through the village. Visit a local family, a private museum and the Tatacoa Desert.  

Day 5 Villa Vieja - San Agustin
Transfer to San Agustin and visit the archaeological park, UNESCO World Heritage site.  

Day 6 San Agustin
On a Coffee Farm guests will get to know the whole process of coffee production and continue to the archeological park of “Alto de los Ídolos”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

Day 7 San Agustin - Popayan
Transfer to Popayan (ca. 6h) along the National Park of Puracé which extends from an altitude of 2.500 meter to 5.000 meter and visit to the sulfurous hot springs of the volcano Puracé “Termales Agua Hirviendos”. 

Day 8 Popayan
Today is market day! Visit the bustling market of Silvia. It is where a colourful mix of Guambiano- and PaecesIndians, nuns and tourists meet each other. 

Day 9 Popayan - Cali
Transfer to Cali. In the afternoon time to explore Cali, the  capital of Salsa and visit of a social dance project for    children.  

Day 10 Cali - Cartagena
Flight to Cartagena (via Bogota) and hotel transfer.      Legendary both for its history and beauty, the colonial  architecture and city walls of Cartagena's picturesque old town perch alongside the sparkling Caribbean.  

Day 11 Cartagena
Half day city tour incl. visit of the convent La Popa, photostop at San Felipe fortress and walk in the historical center. 

Day 12 Cartagena - Santa Marta
Transfer to Santa Marta with stop at El Totumo      volcano, a healing mud bath might be taken. Proceed via Quinta de San Pedro onto Santa Marta.  

Day 13 Santa Marta
Full day tour to Taironaka in the Sierra Nevada. Soft hiking tour to observe the abundant flora and numerous bird species and visit the archaeological ruins of the  native Tayrona. Typical lunch included. Return to Santa Marta, en route opportunity for a refreshing bath at Don Diego river. 

Day 14 Santa Marta
Day at leisure, explore the city, relax on the beach and enjoy the beautiful landscape. 

Day 15 Santa Marta
Transfer to the airport and flight to Bogotá, homebound flight or extension program.
