ECUADOR - ANDES & JUNGLE

Day 1 Quito
Arrival in Quito and transfer to the hotel.  

Day 2 Quito
Half-day sightseeing-tour of Quito which leads you through the historical centre for a walk through the    culturally diverse history of this city. Then proceed to the Equatorial Line Monument called “Middle of the World”. Visit the monument and the Inti Ñan Museum, which  conducts several interactive scientific experiments.  

Day 3 Otavalo
On the way through a wonderful landscape you can see the Lago San Pablo with its great background – the rock massive Taita Imbabura. Arrival in ther famous town  Otavalo and visit to its worldwide known Indian handcrafts market. Continue to the villages Peguche and Cotacachi.  Overnight near Otavalo. 

Day 4 Otavalo - Papallacta
Drive to the small Andean village Papallacta, which is  famous for its thermal baths. Enjoy the pleasant effect of the warm, odourless thermal water surrounded by a  wonderful landscape. Overnight in Papallcata. 

Day 5  Papallacta - Casa del Suizo
Transfer from Papallacta to the Casa del Suizo Lodge in the Amazonas region. Several excursions into the Jungle surrounding and to the Rio Napo as well as lunch and dinner are included.

Day 6-7  Casa del Suizo
Stay at Casa del Suizo. Several excursions into the Jungle surrounding and full board included.

Day 8 Casa del Suizo - Riobamba
Transfer to Riobamba, which is the capital of the province of Chimborazo, where a great number of indigenous   communities live. Overnight near Riobamba. 

Day 9 Riobamba - Ingapirca - Cuenca
Train ride from Alausí along the “Devil’s Nose” inclusive lunchbox. After the train ride continue to Cuenca inclusive visit of the ruins of Ingapirca en route.

Day 10 Cuenca
Half day city tour inclusive visit of the flower market and a Panama Hat factory.  

Day 11 Cuenca - Guayaquil
Drive to Guayaquil and visit the city. Transfer to hotel. 

Day 12 Guayaquil
Transfer to the airport in Guayaquil:  - for international departure flight or  - individual Galapagos extension:   a) Galapagos Cruise   b) Galapagos Island Hopping or Island Stay          programs
