We offer you the last 100 km of the French Way, from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, by foot. If you would like to spend an unforgettable week doing the Way of St. James to finally get the "Compostela". this is your opportunity to make this wish come true.

 

Day 1:
Arrival at León from Madrid (transfer airport/ León station to the first accommodation)
In León you could visit such iconic places as the Cathedral, the Barrio Húmedo" (tapas zone), the Main Sguare, the Collegiate Church of San lsidoro or the Contemporary Art
Museum of Castilla y León. Accommodation in León.
 

Day 2:
León - Rabanal del Camino (69 km) Breakfast in León.
You will start the French Way from León, with a bike stage finishing in Rabanal del Camino. You will go through the towns of Villadangos del Páramo and Astorga. In the ürst town, you can visit the Church of Santiago Apóstol (which dates from the late 17th Century and the beginning of the 18th Century); and, in Astorga, you could see both the Cathedral and the Episcopal Palace, but also the historic Roman legacy that still remains in this town. Moreover, you will be able to taste the traditional gastronomy, specially the "Cocido Maragato" (a typical stew from the area). Accommodation in Rabanal del Camino.
 

Day 3:
Stage 2: Rabanal del Camino - Villafranca del Bierzo
(55,7 km) Breakfast in Rabanal del Camino. The stage for this day will be from Rabanal del Camino to Villafranca del Bierzo. Cycling this stretch, you will pass by Molinaseca, a point to take into account on the Way by the pilgrims, as it has lots of interesting places to see (the Sactuary of Nuestra Sehora delas Angustias, the Church of San Nicolás de Bari, the Bridge of the Pilgrims and the "cruceiro" of Santo Cristo). Once you have arrived at Villafranca, you can visit the Church of Santiago, La Anunciada, San Nicolás, the Collegiate Church, the Castle, "La Alameda", the Main Sguare and many other places. Day 4:
Stage 3: Villafranca del Bierzo - Triacastela (55,6 km)
Breakfast in Villafranca del Bierzo. From Villafranca del Bierzo you will depart towards Triacastela, going through O Cebreiro. In this last village you will find the church of Santa Maria La Real del Cebreiro (pre-romanesgue style), and also the Ethnographic Museum of 0 Cebreiro. ln Triacastela you can visit a church from the llth Century and other temples located in the village. Day 5:
Stage 4: Triacastela - Palas de Rei (70 km)
Breakfast in Triacastela. Departing from Triacastela, the new stage will take you to Palas de Rei. On the way, you will be able to see the town of Sarria and Portomarin. Sarria in the starting point chosen by many pilgrims to begin the Way, and it has remarkable buildings such as the Church of Santa Marina, the Church of El Salvador and the Convent of MagdaIena". ln Portomarín, which is located next to the River Mir'to, you will find the Chapel of La Virgen de las Nieves", the church-fortress of San Nicolás, the church of San Pedro and the Pazos of Conde da Maza and dos Pimentales. Finally, you will arrive at Palas de Rei, which has a "concello" with a strong artistic heritage, as the Church of San Tirso, the Castle of Pambre and the Pazo of Ulloa can demonstrate. Day 6:
Stage 5: Palas de Rei - Santiago de Compostela (69 km)
Breakfast in Palas de Rei. Ready for the last stage, you will leave Palas de Rei heading to Santiago de Compostela. On theway, both Arzúa and 0 Pedrouzo, the most important town before arriving at Santiago, offer some places to visit. In Arzúa, the ancient Convent of Magdalena and the Church of Santiago; in 0 Pedrouzo, belonging to the "concello" of 0 Pino, you will find the Chapel of San Irene. Once in Santiago de Compostela, you will have the opportunity to see an endless amount of landmarks. The main one is the Cathedral and the Sguare of Obradoiro, but that does not mean those are the only remarkable places, as it is also recommendable to take a stroll around the historic district, to taste the gastronomy and to visit some other iconic buildings such as the Catholic Monarchs Inn, the Monastery of San Martín Pinario or the Pazo of Raxoi.
