Mongolian Impression

Day 1 Welcoming Day
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. Transfer to hotel.  After lunch we will visit Gandan  Monastery and National Museum of Mongolia. Enjoy traditional art performance and Welcome dinner. Stay overnight in the hotel****. LD

Day 2 Travel to Khustai National Park & trekking
Travel to Khustai National Park for 110kms, encompasses 50.620 hectare area with habitat of resurrected wild Mongolian horses, popularly known as Takhi (Przewalski’s Horse). Followed by our visit to Information Center and trekking for 5-6kms about 1-2hours. We will explore the park to see Takhi horses in the wilderness. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 3 Travel to nomad community & trekking
Travel for 200km to Gurvanbulag community of nomad herders. Upon arrival in the area you will be greeted according to Mongolian tradition and warmly welcomed to nomadic meals and tea. Cultural immersion for nomadic life. Afternoon we will watch how Mongolian skillful cowboys catch horses by “uurga” – traditional wooden lasso and training an untamed horse that has never been ridden before. You will learn more in deep about traditional technology how to make halter and hobble by leather. Enjoy horseback riding is available. Afternoon we will trek to near the top of mountain. Stay overnight in community based Ger camp. BLD

Day 4 Travel to Kharakhorum
Travel to KharaKhorum for 100kms. Visit famous Erdene Zuu (Hundred Treasures) monastery, built on the remains of Kharakhorum city in 1586 by the order of Abtai Sain Khan, descendant of Chinggis Khan. It was the first Buddhist center in Mongolia. Surrounding the monastery there is a wall with 108 stupas, of which 25 are on each side and 2 at every corner of the wall. Each stupa was erected in commemoration of a particular event, related in the inscription on each one. The three temples inside the wall represent the three stages of the Buddha’s life: childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 5 Drive from steppe to desert
Travel to Ongi temple ruin for 270km. Walking along the area where the ruins are situated. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 6 Travel to Bayanzag and trekking
Continue travel to Bayanzag for 150kms. Here you will see saksaul forest in the Gobi desert and red flaming cliffs, which formed by the erosion of the sand and rock over many thousands of years. This is the place where dinosaurs were lived 70 million years ago, and is internationally famous for its dinosaur remains of complete skeletons, eggs and hatchlings of the Cretaceous Period. Trekking through saksaul forest for 5-6kms about 1-2hours. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 7 Travel to Khongor Sand Dune and camel riding
Travel to Khongor sand dunes for 170kms. Known as Singing sand dunes, the Khongor dunes are up to 300ms high, 15kms wide, and 180kms long. Afternoon we will walk through the Golden sand dunes. The view is incredible from top of the dunes. Today we will visit a nomad family and have a chance to see nomadic life in the Gobi. You can taste traditional dairy products as made of camel milk. Camel riding is available. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 8 Travel to Yol valley & trekking
Morning we will travel to Yol valley (Lammergeier’s Gorge) about 180kms. This picturesque place is nestled between the beautiful peaks of the Gurvan Saikhan Mountain and shelters rich wildlife. Visit Gobi museum and trekking through the valley for 5-6km about 1-2hours. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD
 

Day 9 Drive to Dalanzadgad town for flight to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast drive to local airport for flight to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. Guided shopping for cashmere and souvenirs. Enjoy the farewell dinner. Stay overnight in hotel****. BLD

Day 10 Departure
After breakfast transfer to airport for departure.
