Montevideo Wineries 04 Nights

Day 1 - Montevideo  

Arrive to Montevideo, where a private transfer will drive you to the My Suites Hotel Boutique.  Accommodation is for 4 nights with breakfast included.  Your day includes a wine tasting at the My Suites Hotel Boutique and Wine Bar.   Check in and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.    

Day 2 - Montevideo  

Pick up from your hotel lobby to go on the Regular Winery Tour.  
You will be visiting select wineries – family owned businesses - and spend an unforgettable time enjoying the unique atmosphere of these establishments.  Homeowners will welcome you to their properties with their typical warmth, appreciating your visit to share a piece of their daily work and see (and taste!) the fruits of their labor.    You will tour the vineyards; learn of their history and of the winemaking process. You will taste different wines accompanied by delicious “picadas”, which are generally an assortment of cold cuts and/or cheeses (content of a picada may vary from winery to winery).  Wine tasting will include the Tannat, the emblematic grape of Uruguay that is very well regarded in regional and international contests, as an even better quality grape than its French counterpart.     

Day 3 - Montevideo  

Pick up from your hotel lobby to go on the Regular Montevideo City Tour.    
This tour will let you enjoy Montevideo’s monuments, parks and gardens. The main points of interest are the Old City, Constitution Square, Cathedral and Colonial Town Hall, Solis Theatre, Independence Square (at which center stands a monument and the mausoleum for the country’s national hero, José Gervasio Artigas). Facing the square, is the Government House (Museum of the Presidents) and the main downtown shopping street 18 de Julio lined with shops, cafés and office buildings. Next is a photo stop at the Parliament Building.  (A visit to the inside is optional and for an access fee). This immense structure is the pride of Uruguay. It was constructed between 1908 and 1925 with 12 types of wood and local marble of 52 colours.  The tour continues driving to Batlle & Ordoñez Park, passing by the Obelisk, La Carreta (Covered Wagon) monument and the “Centenario” Soccer Stadium.   The tour will continue driving towards the  residential area of Carrasco, and stop at Plaza Virgilio to view the monument dedicated to the Fallen Navy Soldiers and for a perfect opportunity to photograph an excellent view of the city.  The tour will return to the city center driving along the coastal beaches.  

Day 4 – Montevideo to Punta del Este  

Pick up from your hotel lobby to go on the Regular Punta del Este Full Day Tour.   
This tour begins leaving Montevideo driving along the beach promenade and then merging with the Interbalnearia highway, which will take us through urban areas and countryside over to Piriápolis, one of our major seaside resorts. We’ll see its gorgeous promenade, The Argentino Hotel and ascend the ´San Antonio´ hill with a stop in the top for a beautiful panoramic view of the entire area. Then, we will continue to Punta Ballena, another panoramic stop atop which is the famous museum ´Casapueblo´, former house and atellier of the Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró.  There will be time to visit the museum (entrance ticket not included).  We will continue the tour over to Punta del Este driving along the residential neighbourhoods to admire the beautiful houses and gardens, visiting the Mansa (calm) and Brava (rough) Beaches, Maldonado’s Barra and the Port.   We’ll take time to have lunch (not included) and stroll down Gorlero, the main shopping avenue in the center of Punta.  At the end of the tour you’ll see the famous ´Conrad Hotel´, one of the most important 5 stars hotel in South America.   After this full day in Punta del Este, we will return to your hotel in Montevideo.  

Day 5 – Depart Uruguay  

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and a private transfer will take you to the Montevideo Airport.
