National Kundu & Canoe Festival

Day 1 -  BLD -Arrive Port Moresby

Meet on arrival at Port Moresby airport and transfer to our hotel.  We have

breakfast at the hotel and after breakfast tour of Port Moresby and the

surrounds including the Outside view of the National Parliament house, The

Botanical gardens, . Return for lunch and then after lunch transfer for your PX flight Port Moresby/MAG. Overnight at Jais Aben Resort

Day 2 - BLD

After breakfast begin the tour of Madang and the surrounds includes Balek

Wildlife sanctuary, Madang Haus tumbuna, Kalibobo light house and after

lunch transfer to Hobe village for the Amele people of MAG for the

traditional dance and over village activities. Return and overnight at Jais

Aben Resort.

Day 3 - BLD

After breakfast transfer hotel to the airport for your PX flight MAG/Wewak

and then upon arrival meet and transfer to the hotel. After getting settled

begin the tour of Wewak and the surrounds includes the local town market ,

Cape wom , look out point and other areas of interest and then return to the hotel. Overnight at Inwewak Boutique hotel.

Day 4 - BLD

After breakfast begin your road tour to the Sepik River.  Upon arrival at

Pagwi jump onto the waiting canoe to Kanganamun village. Overnight at

Kanganamun village

Day 5 - BLD

After breakfast begin the tour to the middle Sepik area including Palimbe

village with 2 large Haus Tambran, Aibom, Chambri Lakes and other rivers

villages. Overnight at Kanganamun village

Day 6 - BLD

After breakfast transfer from Kanganamun village to Wewak and overnight at

Wewak Boutique Hotel

Day 7 - BLD

After early breakfast transfer hotel to the airport for your CG flight Wewak /POM/HGU. Upon arrival meet for the tour of the Hagen areas and the

surrounds includes the local town market, a visit to Pogla village to see

the Hagen Ladies and the Hagen Mens dance.  In the afternoon return and

overnight at Kumul Lodge.

Day 8 - BLD

After early breakfast terminate from the lodge for your road tour to the

Eastern Highlands passing through the Jiwaka and the Simbu Provinces. On

your way you stop at Paiakona village to see the chief and his wives with a

little collection of local artefacts, skull and the spirit houses. After

that continue you continue your drive to the Waghi valley to see coffee and

tea plantations local markets and villages before heading for the Eastern

Highlands.  You will stop at Mindima village for the Omo Masalai (skeleton

dance). You will stop at Mt, Wilhelm tourist hotel for the hot lunch. After

lunch you will head for Goroka and upon arrival at Daulo pass stop for a

panoramic view of the Asaro valley – the home of the famous Asaro mud man.

Upon arrival in Goroka you will visit the JK McCarthy musuem and the Raun

Raun Theatre. Overnight at Pacific Garden Hotel.

Day 9 - BLD

After early breakfast you will visit the Goroka coffee and a must visit to

Komumive village for the eerie mud man show and the modelling on the mud

man. After the performance return for lunch and then after lunch transfer to the airport for your PX 964 flight Goroka/POM. Overnight at Loloata Island resort.

Day 10 - BLD

After breakfast transfer hotel to the airport for your PX 954 flight Port

Moresby/Gurney. On arrival you will be met and transferred hotel. After

getting checked into your rooms you can take a walk around the town, local

market and the surrounds. Return for lunch and rest of the day free. (3

nights). Overnight at Lodge/Hotel

Day 11 - BLD

Full day at the National Kundu and canoe festival.

Day 12 - BLD

Full day at the National Kundu and canoe festival.

Day 13 - BLD

Transfer to flight PX …to Port Moresby.  Meet on arrival and transfer to

Hotel. If time permits we do Port Moresby city tour. Overnight Paddys Hotel.

Day 14 - BL

After breakfast do morning tour in Port Moresby including the National

Museum and Parliament House and Botanical gardens. After lunch transfer to

your international departure flight on PX393 to Singapore.
