of the Moon where archaeologists have recently made important discoveries consisting in polychrome  mud wall decorations in high relief.

This is significant as it is the first time this type of decoration has been seen in Mochica architecture. The variety and plastic quality of these iconographies show fish, birds and the face of a deity in the ceremonial court of 60 by 30 m.

The trip continues to the archaeological complex of El Brujo. This complex includes approximately 6 ha and within this area we can find evidence of human  settlements in Huaca Prieta which date from 6,000 years ago as well as architectonic mounds of the Cupisnique, Salinar, Gallinazo, Mochica, Lambayeque and Chimu cultures. Visit the Museum of the only known female ruler, the so called “Señora de Cao”. She died during child birth, and besides an interesting insight in the culture, in the museum you can also see her surprisingly well preserved mommy, with tattoos on her arms and legs. Finally, visit Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum. This museum has a large collection of gold artifacts belonging to the Lambayeque and Mochica cultures.
