PERU - LAND OF THE INCA

Day 1  Lima 
Arrival to Lima and hotel transfer. Lima is known as the gastronomical capital of the Americas, providing a mix of Spanish, Andean and Asian culinary traditions. Remaining day at leisure. 

Day 2  Lima - Cusco - Yucay  
Flight to Cusco. Transfer to the hotel located in the Sacred   Valley. On the way visit the sanctuary Cochauasi Wasi, the  authentic market “Mercado de Urubamba” and have lunch in a typical restaurant.   

Day 3  Yucay  
Optional half-day excursions in the morning:  Optional: Visit of the traditional Pisac Market Optional: Excursion to Moray and the Salt Mines of Maras Optional: Rafting on the Urubamba river Optional: Biking Tour Yanahuara in the Sacred Valley Optional: Hiking from Ollantaytambo to Cachicata In the afternoon visit of the ruins of Ollantaytambo. 

Day 4  Yucay - Machu Picchu - Cusco  
Full day excursion by Vistadome train to visit the Incan site of Machu Picchu including a guided visit. Return by bus and train to Cusco.  

Day 5  Cusco  
Half day city tour inclusive visit Plaza de Armas, which was once the exact centre of the Incan world, and the cathedral, built on the ruins of the ancient Inca Palace and borders on other churches on both sides. Proceed to Sacsayhuaman, a ruin    located above Cusco. The beauty and monumental scale of this magnificent Inca fortress does not fail to impress its visitors. 

Day 6  Cusco - Puno  
Full day panoramic drive to Puno on the shores of magnificent Lake Titicaca (seat-in). This amazing deep blue lake is the   largest lake in South America and the largest in the world above 2000 m. On the way visit Andahuaylillas with its     Sistine Chapel of America, the temple of Wiracocha Racchi and Puka Pukara en route inclusive lunch. Transfer to the hotel. 

Day 7  Puno   
Day tour to the manmade islands of Uros and the unique  culture of the Taquile Island (seat-in). The narrow island of Taquile is home to numerous pre-Inca and Inca ruins and Inca terracing. Lunch included.   

Day 8  Puno - Colca Canyon 
Transfer to the Colca Canyon with stop in the Aguada Blanca National Park on the way. Lunch box en route and dinner at the hotel included.

Day 9  Colca Canyon - Arequipa 
Trip to different lookouts to enjoy the view over the canyon and to watch condors. Afterwards visit of the colonial churches in Maca and Yanque and lunch in Chivay. Arrival in Arequipa in the late afternoon.  

Day 10 Arequipa  
Half day city tour through Arequipa.  

Day 11 Arequipa - Lima  
Transfer to the airport and flight to Lima. In the afternoon sightseeing tour through Lima including the Larco Herrera Archaeological Museum.  

Day 12 Lima  
Transfer to the airport and flight back home or post-program.
