Day 1-2: New York Arrive in New York, America's largest city. Transfer to your hotel. New York City is the largest city in the United States with over 8.2 million residents. New York’s metropolitan area ranks among the largest urban areas in the world and is rated as an alpha world city for its global influences in media, politics, education, entertainment and fashion. The city's cultural centers for arts are among the nations most influential. The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Wall Street, Times Square, Central Park, Empire State Building and Chrysler Building are just a few of the attractions which can be visited. With its 24-hour subway and constant bustling of traffic and people, New York is known as "The City That Never Sleeps". 

Day 3: New York - Hyannis    Departure for New England and Hyannis. Along the Atlantic coast travel through Connecticut where we recommend a stop at the famous Yale University located in the town of New Haven or a stop at Mystic Seaport. Another option is Newport in Rhode Island. This beautifully located town is called "America's First Resort" after many of America's wealthiest individuals built magnificent summer homes here around the turn of the century. Today, many of these mansions are museums and can be visited. Apx. 260 mi / 420 km

Day 4: Hyannis - Boston    Hyannis lies on the formation's southern coast and looks south towards Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Cape Cod itself is a peninsula that juts 100 miles into the sea. Depart for Boston and check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure. Apx. 80 mi / 130 km

Day 5: Boston Enjoy a full day in Boston with all its attractions. Many can easily be explored by foot. Spend some time walking on the Freedom Trail with the most important historic monuments of the city that include Faneuil Hall, the Paul Revere House, the Old State House, Copley Square with Trinity Church and Hancock Tower. Notable sights also include Boston Common, Beacon, Boston Tea Party, the Old North Church and Bunker Hill Monument. While in Boston we recommend you spend some time at the New England Aquarium.

Day 6: Boston - White Mountains   Today you will travel through the beautiful White Mountain National Forest. With a backdrop of over 700,000 acres of protected White Mountain National Forest and boasting the tallest peak in the East, snowcapped Mt. Washington (6,288 ft.), visitors to the North Conway NH area have many activities to choose from. Enjoy an overnight in this area to savor the natural beauty of the White Mountains. Apx. 150 mi / 240 km

Day 7: White Mountains - Lake Placid   Another gem on your journey is Adirondack Park.  The Adirondacks, at 6 million acres, are larger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Great Smoky, and Everglades National Parks combined. It is the largest park in the nation outside of Alaska. The whole Adirondack Mountains region has a total of 240 lakes, ponds and streams, from which, nine of them are major rivers. Lake Placid is best known as the two-time site of the Winter Olympics, in 1932 and 1980. Whiteface Mountain (4,867 feet), in nearby Wilmington about 13 miles (21 km) from Lake Placid, offers skiing, hiking, gondola rides, and mountain biking. It is the only one of the High Peaks that can be reached via an auto road. The area has one of only three bobsled rides in the western hemisphere. Apx. 200 mi / 320 km

Day 8: Lake Placid - Syracuse    The Finger Lakes are a chain of lakes in the west-central section of Upstate New York that are a popular tourist destination. The region is an important agricultural sector of New York State. The rolling land between the lakes is occupied most notably by vineyards but more commonly with other farms, mostly dairy operations. Syracuse stands at the northeast corner of the Finger Lakes Region. Today, Syracuse is home to Syracuse University, a major research university, as well as several smaller colleges and professional schools. Visit the Erie Canal Museum or one of the many wineries in the region. Apx. 200 mi / 320 km

Day 9: Syracuse  - Niagara Falls   No journey to this part of the world would be complete without Niagara Falls. While not the largest of the falls, Niagara Falls does not fail to have visitors stand in awe before them. This magnificent spectacle borders Canadian and American terrain and should be viewed from both sides. A ride aboard the "Maid of the Mist" (May-Oct) is not to be missed (included). Day 10: Niagara Falls - Cleveland   Cleveland, located in the state of Ohio, is on the southern shore of Lake Erie. Today, Cleveland is known for the health care and financial services fields as well as for the oneand-only Rock and Roll Hall of Fame devoted to the music your parents didn't understand. The I.M. Pei designed glass building, dramatically overlooking Lake Erie, holds treasures that range from Jimi Hendrix's handwritten lyrics to Tina Turner's concert costumes. Visiting the Cleveland Museum of Art is one of the great free things to do. Special exhibits may require an admission fee, but there are over 43,000 pieces in the free permanent collection. Day 11: Cleveland - Elkhart  Today your journey will lead you into the heart of Amish County in Indiana discovering the 
rich, diverse heritage that’s shaped Amish Country. Centuries of history, thriving communities and tranquil rural landscapes come to life along the 90-mile Heritage Trail, “One of America’s Most Scenic Drives.” Apx. 241 mi / 385 km

Day 12: Elkhart - Chicago   Welcome to Chicago, also known as the "Windy City". Chicago is famous the world over for its cutting-edge architecture, its excellent museums, jazz and blues clubs and its legendary Midwestern friendliness and hospitality. Apx. 130 mi / 208 km

Day 13: Chicago     Enjoy a day exploring Chicago. Stroll along fashionable Michigan Avenue, the Magnificent Mile, for some world-class shopping or marvel at some of the most impressive architecture in the city's bustling business district. The Sears Tower, at 108 stories, stands as Chicago's tallest building since its completion in 1974 and is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Boat cruises are offered on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. In the evening do not miss a visit to one of Chicago's famous blues clubs. 

Day 14: Chicago / Departure Your trip ends with the rental car return and flight back home.
