Day 1: Denver / Arrival

Day 2: Denver Denver is 1606 meters above sea level and is therefore called the "Mile High City" (1.6 km = 1 Mile). Visit one of the many museums or the Colorado State Capitol, where you can enjoy a magnificent view or you can take a trip to the Red Rock Amphitheater. 

Day 3: Denver - Rocky Mountain N.P. - Casper Today you are leaving for Casper. Allow enough time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park before you drive via Cheyenne to Casper. Apx. 630 km / 391 mi

Day 4: Casper - Cody Through the Bighorn Mountains you make your way to Cody. Its most famous inhabitant was Buffalo Bill Cody. He was a buffalo hunter, scout and a Pony-Express rider before he took his Wild West Show on tour. Apx. 345 km / 214 mi

Day 5: Cody - Yellowstone N.P. The huge Yellowstone National Park was the first National Park. It has a few hundred geysers and about 10,000 hot springs in a beautiful mountain panorama. Apx. 140 km / 87 mi

Day 6: Yellowstone National Park Yellowstone National Park is largely a part of the 640,000 year old caldera of the Yellowstone 
Volcano. It is over the magma chamber which lays about 8 km under the surface. 

Day 7: Yellowstone N.P. - Jackson Hole Through the mountain chain of the Grand Tetons with its snow-covered peaks you go on to Jackson Hole. The city was named after a trapper and offers a Wild West experience in the city centre - the Jackson Town Square. Apx. 170 km / 106 mi 

Day 8: Jackson Hole - Salt Lake City The idyllic scenery changes into desert until you reach Salt Lake City in the big salt desert. The Mormon city and Capital City of Utah is charming with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir whose songs are broadcast from the famous Tabernacle.  Apx 450 km / 280 mi

Day 9: Salt Lake City - Bryce Canyon N.P. The drive goes from the desert into the red rock landscape and finally into Bryce Canyon National Park. Hike along the Queens Gardens Trail between pointy sandstone pillars and admire the spectacle of nature. Apx. 445 km / 277 mi

Day 10: Bryce Canyon N.P. - Page Today your journey takes you to Lake Powell. The red sandstone rocks and islets form a beautiful contrast to the blue water of the lake. Enjoy a relaxing boat trip. Apx. 260 km / 162 mi

Day 11: Page - Grand Canyon N.P. Over the course of centuries the Colorado River has milled a huge gap into the Grand Canyon. At the rim of the canyon you can enjoy a spectacular view of the steep cliffs and plateaus. Apx. 230 km / 143 mi

Day 13: Las Vegas Enjoy today in glitter and glamour. The mega hotels are coming up with the most fascinating attractions. Visit Paris, New York or Venice. Or try your luck in the casinos.

Day 14: Las Vegas - Death Valley N.P. The desert is alive! You will experience this during your drive through the Death Valley. The Mojave-Desert is the deepest point in the Western Hemisphere. Apx. 200 km / 124 mi

Day 15: Death Valley N.P. - Mammoth Lakes For nature lovers especially, there is a lot to see and do around the Mammoth Lakes. In total there are more than 100 large and small, crystal clear lakes in the surrounding area. Apx. 350 km / 217 mi

Day 16: Mammoth Lakes - Yosemite N.P. Over the Tioga-Pass is goes to the Yosemite National Park. High waterfalls, huge sequoias trees and alpine landscapes with blue mountain lakes are characteristics for the Yosemite National Park. Apx. 250 km / 155 mi

Day 17: Yosemite N.P. - San Francisco Perhaps you want to plan a stop to Sacramento on the way to San Francisco. On arrival in San Francisco great attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge or Fisherman's Wharf, await you. Apx. 315 km / 196 mi

Day 18: San Francisco Start the day with a stroll in the bustling Union Square or walk up the hill to Chinatown. A ride on the famous Cable Car or a trip to the prison island of Alcatraz is highly recommended.
