THE HEART OF SOUTH AMERICA

Day 1  Santiago de Chile
Arrival in Santiago de Chile. Overnight at Hotel Galerias. 

Day 2  Santiago de Chile
Half day city tour inclusive visit to a Museum. Half day excursion to the famous Maipo Valley to visit one of the wineries in this wine region. 

Day 3  Santiago - Calama - San Pedro
Flight to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama in the Atacama desert. Visit to the church of Chiu Chiu, the ruins of Pukara de Lasana and enjoy lunch en route. Overnight at Hotel Casa de Don Tomas. 

Day 4  San Pedro de Atacama
City tour of San Pedro, visit to the Atacama desert with     Toconao, Pukara de Quitor, the Atacama Desert and the Moon Valley.  

Day 5  San Pedro - Villamar
Transfer to Villamar in Bolivia. En route visit of the Green and Red Lagoon. Dinner and overnight at Lodge Mallcu Cueva. 

Day 6  Villamar - Uyuni 
Transfer to Uyuni. Visit of the Rocks Valley and the Alota   Village. Lunch at Fish Island, located in the centre part of the salt flat of Uyuni. Continue to Uyuni and visit of the Colchani Village. Overnight at otel Tambo Aymara. 

Day 7  Uyuni - Potosí
Transfer to Potosí. Half day city tour and visit of the museum Casa de la Moneda, which was a very important centre of  colonial trading. Overnight at Hotel Santa Teresa. 

Day 8  Potosí - La Paz
Visit of one of the famous colonial silver mines. Transfer to La Paz and overnight at Hotel Rey Palace. 

Day 9  La Paz
Half day excursion to visit the famous ruins of Tiwanaku. In the afternoon half day city tour of La Paz inclusive visit of the Moon Valley. 

Day 10 La Paz - Puno
Full day boat excursion on a catamaran (seat-in basis) on Lake Titicaca to visit the Sun Island inclusive Lunch.  Transfer to Hotel Jose Antonio Puno. 

Day 11 Puno - Cusco
Full day panoramic bus journey from Puno to Cusco  along the Andean plateau (Basis 2 pax on seat-in basis). Overnight at Hotel Eco Inn. 

Day 12 Cusco
Half day city tour inclusive visit of the Plaza de Armas and the cathedral, built on the ruins of the ancient Inca Palace and borders on other churches on both sides. Proceed to the surrounding ruins of Cusco, like Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara, Kenko and Tambo Machay

Day 13 Cusco - Machu Picchu - Cusco
Full day excursion on Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes and bus transfer to visit famous Machu Picchu. Guided visit of the ruin site and return to Cusco by bus & train. 

Day 14 Cusco - P. Maldonado - Tambopata
Flight to Puerto Maldonado in the rainforest. Short city tour and boat transfer to the Posada Amazonas Lodge. Jungle excursion, dinner and overnight at the lodge. 

Day 15 Tambopata
Excursion to the parrot clay lick and the monkey island. Canoe ride on Lake Sandoval and wildlife observation. Full board and overnight at the lodge.   

Day 16 Tambopata - P. Maldonado - Lima
Return to the airport of Puerto Maldonado and flight to Lima. Overnight at Hotel Casa Andina Centro. 

Day 17 Lima
Half day city tour and visit to the Larco Herrera Museum. Transfer to the airport for return flight.
